The purfling was accurately inlaid and demonstrates the skills of a good craftsman, who built this good viola. Without any damage or repair, this viola is offered in excellent condition. Interesting traces of use indicate that this old viola was often played, and it is ready to express its convincingly mellow, warm, large sound, that has some dark, rounded character and is well-balanced, precise and resonant.
