This mature, mid 19th century Tyrolean master violin ranks amongst the most remarkable instruments in the price range we have discovered in recent months. And it comes as a surprise that its maker's name and label has been almost lost in history, given the exceptionally fine quality of the violin's flawless craftsmanship and individual appearance. Defining features indicate that the violin was made in the Alpine region of Tyrol, influenced by the predominant school of Klotz in Mittenwald and Stainer in Absam at the time. The delicate golden brown oil varnish applied on a golden-yellow ground has developed interesting patina and determines the antique appearance of this fine master violin. The expressive carving of the scroll is of a quality that is nearly unparalleled. Our workshop has meticulously set up this fine c.1800 violin that is offered literally crack-free in very good condition.
