This German violin from the Armin Voigt ateliers in Markneukirchen is a Stradivari model dating back to the early 20th century around 1930; its bright, open sound combines power and resonance with a gentle note, closely imitating its Italian role model. The Voigt name represents one of the oldest Markneukirchen dynasties of violin makers, a family which made its home in Saxony for over 300 years. The top of this Armin Voigt violin is made of medium grained spruce, while the two-piece back of narrow flamed sycamore maple reflects the elevated quality for which early 20th century Markneukirchen instrument production is known. This is an old violin that has been kept in excellent shape and will satisfy the demands of orchestra players: it is in perfectly undamaged condition and ready to play, worked over by our violin maker with new pegs, a new bridge, sound post and strings.
