This fine antique cello bow with a later frog is dynamic and yet easily controlled, making it ideal for nuanced interpretations of virtuoso literature in a way that only very few bows of this price segment permit. Crafted around 1920 probably in an English master atelier, the cello bow has a round stick of premium light brown pernambuco, and the elegantly shaped lines of the head show the flawless work of a confident and experienced bow maker. It is a work of traditional artisanry which does unfortunately no more has the high-quality fittings it deserves: a nickel-mounted ebony frog with a mother-of-pearl eye and a three-piece button are a later replacement from Germany. After having been carefully set up at our specialist atelier, this fine cello bow is now ready to play; the stick has been kept in undamaged condition. We especially recommend it for sophisticated cellists who will appreciate the open character of its bright, clear and refined sound.
