A floor protector is an indispensable accessory for every cello, and if you have become frustrated with makeshift solutions that are more or less improvised, you should have a look at this well-designed, space-saving and practical endpin stopper.
Some cellists see the little divots their endpin leaves on the floor or carpeting and regard them as a kind of trophy, but for homeowners and landlords they are nothing but a source of frustration. And digging the endpin into the floor is also not a very secure way to play. However, we have a practical alternative to having to carry around a bulky homemade cello board or dealing with a rubber stopper that does not grip properly. This floor protector has a metal loop which is simply hung around the front leg of a chair, and an additional layer of rubber under the one-piece metal plate at the other end allows the endpin to be secured safely and withstand pressure ruggedly from every direction. The well-constructed polypropylene strap can be freely adjusted to a length of up to 76 cm, and the device can be rolled up and fit into even the smallest pouch in a case.
