“Le Lorrain” is one of the violin models which brought international success to French instrument maker Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy (J.T.L.) around the turn of the 20th century. This fine ¾-sized violin was also crafted at the J.T.L. atelier in Mirecourt; it was made approx. 1910 using tone woods that came from the Vosges mountains and have excellent acoustic and aesthetic qualities. This premium instrument, which was based on a broadly contoured Stradivari model, features a lovely, elegantly carved scroll and the dark-red / rust-brown varnish. With its moderately high arch, it has a very beautiful, powerful and clear, bright sound. It was carefully worked over by our luthiers and is ready to play.
