This beautiful children's violin was built approx. 1900 in the French center of violin making Mirecourt, a finely crafted 3/4 sized instrument from the Vosges mountains. Only very few antique small sized violins are preserved as well as this instrument with minor repairs is. It was built after Stradivari patterns. The patinated, golden yellow shining varnish with traces of use features a color that is typical for Mirecourt instruments. The gentle arching of the top and the back, the carefully crafted purfling and flutings are the work of a skilled hand. The violin was completely worked over by our violin maker and is ready to express its warm, lovely, somewhat mellow sound.
