This perfectly preserved German 3/4 violin is an exceptionally beautiful instrument that was crafted with taste and attention to detail. Made around the year 1900 in an unknown workshop in Saxony, it clearly bears the hallmark of an experienced luthier who selected quality tonewoods for the moderately grained spruce top and the two-piece flamed maple back and shaped them with great sensibility. The violin has evidently been very well taken care of, as it shows hardly any scratches or traces of use. Light-brown varnish on a golden yellow ground coat and precisely inlaid purfling enhance the interesting and harmonious visual aesthetics of the instrument; it has a voice to match that is at once warm, bright and open with an immediate response. As all of our instruments this violin was worked over completely in our atelier and is offered ready to play!
