Old 3/4 violin from Markneukirchen, made around 1940. This German 3/4-sized violin reflects the good Saxonian craftsman tradition of the violin-making town of Markneukirchen in the Vogtland region. A golden-brown varnish with minor traces from playing, a back and ribs of flamed maple, a well crafted scroll and small, cleanly cut sound holes all bear witness to the quality of this three-quarter-sized violin, which was patterned after the Stradivari model. Despite some traces from playing that introduce a well-played and loved instrument this 3/4 violin is in very good condition with no cracks. It was completely worked over by our luthier and is ready to be played. Its bright, strong sound is well balanced across all of the strings and has a power to it that will make playing a great pleasure.
