This interesting, historic 3/4 violin is a rare early children's instrument made in the Hopf workshops in Klingenthal. It is a truly antique instrument that was handmade around 1850 and bears the typical Hopf brandstamp. The top is made of medium grained spruce, the two piece back of flamed maple. The varnish is of the typical light-brown color and shows extensive wear and signs from playing - with only a repair to the pegbox and a crackfree body, this historic 3/4 sized Hopf violin remains in very good condition. Like all Corilon instruments, it has been set up by the luthiers in our atelier for violin making and restoration and can be played right away. The sound is warm and dark and of good strength, with a mature character, a bit mellow and well balanced.
