The instrument is a pretty old French 3/4 violin from the 1930ies. The instrument was handmade in the Vosgesian violin making center Mirecourt in France. The label (Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume) indicates the model - the violin is of course not a J. B. Vuillaume. The varnish is rich and shiny and in excellent condition. The color is a very intense orange-red over a yellow ground. The violin is well preserved, crackfree and in excellent condition. It has been set up to a high standard and is in fine playing condition. Its lovely sound is not too loud, warm and open with a mellow character.
