This lovely Mittenwald 1/8 violin is a small instrument of a rarely witnessed quality: made by Adolf Hornsteiner in Mittenwald, the elegant style of its perfectly crafted, deeply carved scroll reflects the violin's heritage. The inlaid purfling is very delicately applied and is clearly the work of a talented violin maker. The medium grained texture of the spruce used to make the top is rich in character and clearly visible under the golden-brown varnish, which is very transparent and accentuates the deep flaming of the sycamore maple on the one piece back. Almost no of age and use are present, and our luthiers meticulously worked over this perfectly preserved instrument. This little old violins voice is strong, mature, clear and warm. This 1/8 violin is sold as a set with case and two bows.
