Simple but excellent at play: French violin bow (brasil wood) from the workshop of Morizot freres

Louis Morizot established his atelier at Mirecourt in the year 1925. Assisted by his sons, the Morizot Frères manufactured magnificent artist bows. For their efforts they obtained the highest award at the "Exposition Artisanale Paris" in 1929. Violin bows by the Morizot family are still admired and sought after by conoisseurs and amateurs. This simpler quality unstamped violin bow by Morizot freres is made of orange-brown brasil wood, the stick features an excellent combination of tension, stiffness and activity. The ebony frog is nickel silver mounted with a Pearl eye. The bow measures 74.8 cm including the adjuster and the balance-point is at 25.6 cm, the felt balance-point is located in the lower half of the stick, balanced. This simple but excellent Morizot violin bow feels excellent in the hand, is easy, strong and reactive to play. It produces a warm, bright, large, clear and shining sound.
