This viola bow, a silver-mounted, strong player, was crafted by an unknown bowmaker in Markneukirchen / Germany approx. 1980. The viola bow is a very successful work with a strong and well-balanced, round stick made of red brown first quality pernambuco. The silver mounted bow frog is decorated with a Parisian eye and a white shimmering pearl slide. The lower part of the head has slightly suffered from fitting of a new headplate in the past what allows us to offer this fine quality viola bow at a reduced price. This strong German viola bow has a balance point which is centered, slightly inclined towards the head, and measured at 26.8 cm of 74.4 cm total length; its total weight is a convenient 66.7 g. This Markneukirchen viola bow complements mellow or unprecise sounding violas as it features a warm, balanced sound.
