This viola bow in the French style stamped P.R. Leblanc is the quality work of an unknown German bow making workshop and features with its total weight of only 65.2 g very comfortable playing properties. It was made approx. 1950 of beautiful light-brown pernambuco wood and was set up with a nickel mounted ebony frog that bears a mother of pearl eye. This both noble and straightforward style is completed by the three-part adjuster and the tastefully crafted head. The weight of the bow (73,8 cm) is perfectly balanced, with a sensed balance-point near the middle slightly towards the head that is measured at 29 cm – an excellently suitable piece for virtuosic playing. The strong, round stick features good elasticity and produces a fluid sound, with a bright character that is highly recommendable.
