This good German violin bow was made by Albert Thomä in Markneukirchen in the mid 20th century. It is a strong sounding, active and tense violin bow is able to add volume, warmth and clarity to the sound of the violin it is played with. This Albert Thomä violin bow features an octagonal stick of medium strength with high tensions made of red-brown premium pernambuco wood equipped with a nickel mounted ebony frog. The stick bears the original "*AlbertThomä'" stamp. The slide is made of white-greenish shimmering Pearl, accurately let into the hard ebony wood. The felt balance-point is well centered and the bow feels handy and well balanced in the hand, playing strong and agile, producing a warm, voluminous, clear sound. The measured balance-point of the 74.7 cm bow is at 25.6 cm from the frog end. Like all instruments and bows from us, in full playing condition. A medium, tense, active, versatile violin bow that deserves our special recommendation.
