German violin bow, Emil Kurt Wild, stamped K. Wild

This German quality violin bow is a good work of craftsmanship from Markneukirchen, that was very likely made by Emil Kurt Wild (1896-1976) in Breitenbach/Saxony, as the stamp „K. WILD“ indicates. The round stick is quite strong and was made of beautiful pernambuco wood. The nickel mounted ebony frog has rounded edges and a green-white shimmering mother-of-pearl slide and light mother-of-pearl eyes; the head is crafted after a typical pattern and demonstrates best craftsmanship from the Markneukirchen region, that is one of the most renowned places of bow making worldwide. With a balance-point that is measured at 26.0 cm of 74.7 cm total length and sensed very well-centered, the bow features good playing qualities and produces a clear and dark sound, full of an interesting, "adult" character.
