This artfully elaborated probably English violin bow was crafted by unknown master hand presumably in England in the late 19th century. The round stick is made of finest quality pernambuco wood of good tension and elasticity, the color is a dark golden-brown. The delicate head, unmistakably English, shows finest workmanship, the frog is mounted in fine silver mounted quality with a one-part silver adjuster. This perfectly balanced violin bow feels lightweight in the hand, it measures 74.2 cm and its perceived balance point is well centered, slightly inclined towards the upper half of the stick. Its measured balance-point is at 26.9 cm from the frog end. This fine English violin bow produces a cultivated sound, warm, bright, noble and resonant and has already been highlighted by a Mariinsky professional musician on site.
