This interesting French pernambuco violin bow, made on a Pecatte model in Mirecourt around 1940, faintly stamped, is suitable for powerful violin playing and is a typically French piece, characterized by its bright, flowing sound. The strong stick with a round cross-section is made of light pernambuco wood and combines elasticity, high tension and good stability. The bow's center of gravity is 26.9 cm, including the legs, and is felt to be well balanced slightly towards the upper half of the bow stick. A nickel-silver mounted ebony frog with mother-of-pearl eye is a very appropriately chosen fitting for this high quality and interesting French violin bow, presumably from a renowned company, which we offer ready to play.
