Well-crafted silver mounted violin bow, illegibly stamped, made in Markneukirchen in the mid 20th century. The strong octagonal stick is of excellent power, it was made of light brown pernambuco wood. A finely made ebony frog is equipped with a white-green-rose shimmering mother of pearl slide and genuine silver mounts. The violin bow is well balanced and feels handy and convenient in the hand, the sensed balance-point is slightly inclined towards the lowerhalf of the stick. The measured balance-point is at 25.9 cm from the frog end. This good Markneukirchen violin bow is in excellent condition and produces a warm, bright, powerful sound with mellow notes. It works well with sharp sounding violins and adds a bit of volume to the tone.
