Hill model, Fine violin bow from Markneukirchen

This fine German violin bow was crafted on a Hill model around 1940 / 1950 in Markneukirchen, then the centre of German bow making where many small family-lead ateliers produced world-class pieces. This work by an unknown master bears witness to the high quality of Markneukirchen bows, thanks to the persuasive power of its clear, matured and noble sound. The octagonal stick of brown pernambuco is of good strength and plays fluidly, it measures 74.5 cm and is of very good quality with an eye-catchingly well-designed head. Its balance point is at 26.5 cm and feels broadly centered in the hand. The violin bow was worked over thoroughly by our luthiers and is offered ready to play. Its features - an ebony frog and fine nickel silver mountings - simply and elegantly emphasize the valuable nature of this excellent bow that has bright, mature tone of good strength and volume. It is a violin bow that playes reactively and is useful for most violins.
