This beautiful violin bow from the workshops of Meinel & Herold was manufactured in Klingenthal presumably between 1910 and 1920. The round dark red brown colored stick is made of dark red-brown pernambuco wood. The strength of the stick is soft. The head is especially beautifully worked out. The ebony frog is nickel mounted, the stick bears a "Meinel & Herold Klingenthal" brandstamp. The pearl slide is shimmering in attractive golden green colors. The bow has a rather light weight of 55,8 g, which benefits the easy handling. The sensed balance-point is centered, tending towards the frog end. The measured balance-point is 26,0 cm from the frog end. The overall length is 74,5 cm. A very good preserved bow in excellent condition, producing a warm, dark and lovely sound.
