Good quality German violin bow made approx. 1950 for Amati Mangenot (a French violin maker) in Markneukirchen, Saxony. This very handy, strong and highly active violin bow is a skilled work that was made of attractive red-brown pernambuco wood. The round stick is very strong with high tension and response. The elegant head is interestingly crafted, the ebony frog is nickel-mounted and has a slide made of shimmering white-blue mother-of-pearl, as was often used in Markneukirchen from 1950 onwards. Its perceived balance point is in the middle, slightly in the upper half.
