This modern Canadian baroque violin after Andrea Amati was made by Francis Beaulieu in the city of Montreal in 2005. Francis Beaulieu is a violin and viol maker specialized in the making of baroque instruments. This baroque violin is an especially beautiful and close copy of an Andrea Amati violin of 1564, the top is made of medium grained spruce, the two piece back of flamed maple. The baroque violin is set up for early music practice with a baroque bridge and gut strings. The violin is undamaged and in near mint condition. Its strong resonant sound is warm and clear with excellent volume over the strings.
