A truly beautiful antique Hopf violin from Klingenthal. This violin is a unique instrument of character, made around 1840 in Klingenthal by the Hopf workshops (one of the most famous names of German violin making). The squary model, the wood selection, the quality of workmanship and finally the beautiful varnish, this violin of an extraordinary quality and transparence, are very typical. The top is made of medium grained spruce, the one piece back of mildly flamed maple. With some restoration that allow us to offe rthis violin at a reduced price this beautiful Hopf violin is in fine playing condition, it has been meticulously worked over and approved by the violin makers at Corilon and is ready to play. The colorful ancient sound is of a warm, silvery character, with clear sweetness in the higher ranges. A an affordable instrument of a unique character having an excellent modulatable tone.
