This 7/8 violin is a handmade quality instrument from ta renowned master workshop around Markneukirchen, where it was handmade made in approximately 1940. Despite its smaller size this 7/8-sized instrument features the typical, preferably strong sound of violins from Markneukirchen that we can recommend immediately. The violin is preserved crackfree in very good condition, it bears some minor traces of use as they are common for the age. The golden-brown colored varnish with subtle antiqueings is highly transparent and shows the fine grains of the quality tonewoods that were chosen for this 7/8 violin: fine grained spruce for the table, the two piece back made of mildly flamed sycamore maple. The small soundholes are full of character and complete the high quality appearance of this antique 7/8-sized violin, that was designed with flat arch after a Bergonzi model. We offer this good 7/8 violin in immediate playing condition, crackfree and with no repairs after a complete work-over and approval by our expert luthiers, with a special recommendation for its bright, clear and open sound, that is strong and rich in overtones.
