This powerful violin suitable for soloist use was made by Josef Oplustil in Marienbad in Bohemia in approximately 1930 and it bears the Oplustil label. The slightly porous varnish is a spirit varnish that shows of an intensely shining bright golden orange brown color. The fine quality woods are medium grained spruce for the top, the two piece back of flamed maple. This powerful violin is preserved in excellent condition without any damage. We offer it after a meticulous workover in our atelier for violin making and restoration in best playing condition. Her mature, ringing sound is of excellent power, warmth, clarity and maturity.
