Antique, 19th century violin made by the influential Mirecourt luthier Didier Nicolas L'Ainé. This interesting historic French violin is a powerful instrument that has been crafted in the central work phase around 1810 before his death in 1833. There can be no doubt about the mastery of the founder of the Didier Nicolas workshop, given the defining characteristic details and the superior quality of the instrument’s execution: the finely crafted purfling is the unmistakable expression of Didier Nicolas style, as is the premium light-brown spirit oil varnish which has developed a wonderful historic patina over the course of the decades. Expressive traces of use can be attributed to generations of technically accomplished musicians who played it extensively - while keeping it in excellent condition - together with the quality of a well-made repair on the top of the violin (not in the sound post region) are an expression of high esteem that earlier owners had for the violin. This powerful Didier Nicolas instrument is with minor restoration in well-kept condition, and the experts at our restoration studio set it up thoroughly and made it ready to play. Its bright, radiant and carrying sound gives it a mature voice full of sweetness – an instrument for soloist players and to fall in love with, a recommendation which speaks for itself. Like all violins from us the price of the violin includes free worldwide shipping and a 30 days return option.
