This violin was built in the 1920s by an unknown violin maker in Markneukirchen, Saxony, after a wide and flatly arched Stradivari model. It bears a handwritten original label „Edelton-Violine n. Stradivarius“ - noble-sounding violin after Stradivarius - and indeed the patterns of the famous master from Cremona are clearly expressed by this successfully crafted instrument, if not to say copy. Beautiful, medium grained spruce was chosen for the top, mildly flamed maple for the two-piece back, premium tonewoods featuring an attractive appearance that is refined by a light and transparent, golden-brown oleaginous varnish. The tasteful scroll was carved with utmost care and completes the aesthetics of this violin, that is offered in perfectly preserved condition. A nice, new rosewood setup was applied by our luthier, who thoroughly worked over the instrument and made it ready to play. It unfolds its convincing voice with a warm, fluid sound, that is mature and full of character.
