This rare 7/8 French master violin No. 61 by Paul Hilaire shows traces of use that are fitting for a well-played instrument of its quality and age - it was made in 1966 in Mirecourt, origin of many French violins. The violin is an eye-catchingly beautiful instrument that bears Paul Hilaire's dated original label. The delicately carved scroll is a good indication of the meticulous artisanry and craftsmanship with which this fine quality 7/8 violin was made. The exquisitely lovely and lustrous, golden-brown oil varnish on a brightly luminous background enhance the premium tone woods, especially the wonderfully flamed maple back. The mature, radiant sound of this Paul Hilaire violin is as striking as its optical appearance. Our experienced luthiers meticulously worked over the violin, which is preserved with a minor top seam repair crackfree in perfect condition - checked it and and made it ready to play.
