An Adolf Durenzy violin from the Thibouville-Lamy workshops in Mirecourt. The well designed Stradivari-style violins impress with a prodigiously deep shimmering varnish. So does this dark brown and red shining instrument, that was made at the beginning of the 20th Century. The color of the thick and shiny spirit based lacquer reminds of delicious chestnuts. A typically french blackening of the scroll and of the edges adds a dignified flavour to the violin. The strong sound can be described as clear, dominant, carrying and resonant, precise and rich in overtones. This antique instrument has no cracks and is in very good condition. The violin was set up and tonally adjusted by our professional luthier - a ready-to-play, good-quality instrument at a quite a reasonable price.
