French violin made in approximately 1910 in the workshops of Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy (J.T.L.) in Mirecourt, the well-known center of violin making in the Vosges mountains of France. It is a French violin of J.T.L.'s Breton high quality series. The violin introduces the typical J.T.L. style with a wide body and a luminous orange-brown varnish. The broadly flamed two piece maple back and the typically carved scroll (a pegbox repair is located at the right side) provide a beautiful, elegant and typcial French appearance. We offer this good old French violin with an undamaged body, preserved in good condition. The violin was completely worked-over in our atelier, offered immediately ready to play. We highly recommend its clear, strong voice, that is of mature character, resonant and rich in overtones. Like all our instruments and bows, this includes our trade-in guarantee and an optional certificate of appraisal.
