The original label of this exceptionally preserved and elegantly beautiful French violin made in the atelier of Charles Le Lyonnais in Nantes shows the handwriting of an older man. In fact, Charles Le Lyonnais who was born in 1882 had reached the age of 57 when this violin was made. The elegant, personalized Stradivari model and the flawless craftsmanship that is impressively demonstrated by the carefully executed ff-holes and the indivicually carved scroll proves the violin´s origin from Charles Le Lyonnais renowned workshop. The very transparent and richly applied oil varnish shows hardly any signs from playing, it features a luminous dark red color applied on a golden ground, its shining gloss highlights the strong, deep flaming of the two-piece maple back. This Charles Le Lyonnais violin is in offered in excellent, undamaged and nearly unused condition, ready to play after a complete work-over by our expert luthiers. Its sound features a noble and brilliant character, clear and dominating with immediate response.
