In 1910 this Ackermann & Lesser violin was built after a well-proven Stradivarius model, as a good example of instruments from the renowned Ackermann & Lesser company in Dresden. Ackermann & Lesser had musical instruments of many different types crafted in their own workshops, but they also bought instruments from selected makers; stringed instruments as the violin offered here that bears the original Ackermann & Lesser label often came from the well-known violin making town of Markneukirchen in Saxony. The excellent craftsmanship of this piece is impressively demonstrated by the finely crafted purfling, the spirit-oil varnish and the two-piece back that was made of deeply flamed sycamore maple. The red-brown colored varnish has a lot of patina and bears many traces of use. Our expert luthiers carefully worked over this instrument that is offered in best condition, ready to play with a recommendably strong, mature sound, that is very powerful and features some dark character.
