Made in the golden 1920ies, this 20th century master violin was made by Johann Glass, master maker of artistic violins. A late work of the master, it bears the original 1928 dated label by Johann Glass. Johann Glass was repairer and restorer for the famous Gewandhausorchester Leipzig and worked until his high age of 80 years. The broad model is after Stradivarius showing a strong, self-confident personal influence. The glossy varnish is an oil varnish of a luminous golden-orange color, quite typical for this master, decorated by tasteful antiqueings. This powerful German violin is despite a repair to the pegbox crackfree and after having been worked over by the luthiers in our atelier offered in perfect playing condition. Her warm, large tone is open and precise, warm, and of good strength.
