This historic Vogtland master violin stamped from the collection of a Leipzig concertmaster was crafted around 1800 in the Vogtland region of Saxony. The violin, which hails from the circles of the Pfretzschner famnily of violin makers, was unmistakably influenced by the Vogtland region's classic design, although at the same time it reflects a strong influence by the old Italian masters. Medium arching curves resembling the Italian masters shapes the aesthetic of this well preserved antique master violin, as does the one-piece back of maple with interesting grain. This beautiful Vogtland master violin is preserved in remarkable condition with minor repairs only and immediatley ready to play. Its bright, delicate and mature voice has a warm character to it, which serves as further proof of the sound quality which has made historic violins from Saxony an inside tip amongst demanding musicians.
