A good Mittenwald 7/8 violin. The violin label reads: "Mathias Klotz.. Mittenwald Karw." (Karwendel mountains). Obviously the violin is a a workshop instrument by one of his students, as Mittenwald maker Mathias Klotz was a teacher at the Mittenwald violin making school at his time. No more words are necessary, for that the simple but good quality of the solid instrument speak for itself. Well selected tonewoods from the Mittenwald surrounding forests, an affectionately carved scroll and a luminous flawless finish are just a few features to be mentioned of this elaborate result of handmade workmanship. The body, made on the historic Klotz model, is covered with a classical golden yellow toned varnish. This violin has a bright, open sound.
