Mario Gadda violin - oil varnished with original Mario Gadda maker's certificate.
The appearance of this professional Mario Gadda violin is determined by the striking woods and a strong personal note, a distinctive feature of this violin. It was made in 1970 and is like the other Mario Gadda violin in our catalogue heir of the Mantuan school, which extended from Mario Gadda's father, Gaetano Gadda (whose contribution to this violin is mentioned in the certificate),, to his instructor Scarampella, and even back to Tommaso Balestrieri. Liberally applied bright and glossy red-brown oil varnish points towards those great predecessors and gives the violin its striking appearance. If there is one attribute that defines Italian violins, it is their distinctive sound, which is wonderfully developed in this mature work. This beautiful violins voice is shining and strong, radiant, bright, rich in overtones and a singing character, an extremely powerful and carrying violin for soloists that we can recommend without reserve. We offer this rare, clearly premium quality Mario Gadda violin in perfectly preserved condition. It has been set up by our luthiers and is, as all instruments offered by Corilon violins, professionally worked over and ready to play. The original maker's certificate by Mario Gadda is included.
