The choice of select tone woods alone reveals decades of experience in working with fine stringed instruments and a highly developed musical sense: the fine- to medium-grained spruce of the top and the deeply flamed maple of the two-piece back are shown off to their best advantage by the deeply luminous orange-brown oil varnish, applied according to a personal recipe. The deeply carved scroll is a statement full of character, a mature work of art that, along with other details such as the fine purfling, emphasizes the structural quality of this typical Italian violin. The fact that the design of the instrument was guided not only by aesthetic taste but also, and above all, by musical sensitivity is demonstrated by the excellent playing characteristics and superb sound of this young Cremona violin.
