With this outstandingly successful work - his journeyman's piece from 1903 - Karl Siebenhüner provides a rare glimpse into the training workshop of Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy (J. T. L.), where he completed his apprenticeship, and corrects many a preconception about the important Mirecourt company.

At first glance, it may seem surprising that Anton Siebenhüner (1851-1922), an internationally successful master who had worked for George Gemunder in New York and Ludwig Bausch in Leipzig, among others, sent his son to one of the largest musical instrument manufacturers in Europe for his training - but his father rightly suspected that his successor would find an environment of violin-making excellence there that was unique in his time. And Karl Siebenhüner proves to be an excellent pupil in the violin offered here: with its fine tone woods and perfectly crafted details such as the blackened scroll, this elegant and beautiful-sounding instrument exemplifies the typical style of the house of J. T. L. in an exemplary manner. This early Karl Siebenhüner violin is in an undamaged state of preservation, has been checked by our luthiers and is ready to play. It tells the story of a highly talented young luthier - and of an inspiration that fell on fertile ground with him. As with all our instruments and bows, our trade-in guarantee is included; an optional certificate of appraisal can also be ordered.
