Following in the historical footsteps of the Lord Wilton Guarneri violin (the “ex-Yehudi Menuhin”) is an aesthetic and musical challenge for a new master violin – and the violin opus 1 from our CV Selectio portfolio truly rises to the challenge  with its soloist sound and strikingly lovely appearance. In the year 1742, Giuseppe Antonio Guarneri – Guarneri del Gesù – created the definitive instrument of his late oeuvre, a violin which later became known as the Lord Wilton Guarneri and which ultimately helped shape the music of the 20th century in the hands of Yehudi Menuhin. As a profound study of this significant historic role model, the master violin presented here offers the typical elements of the Guarneri style with a powerful, dominant and radiantly beautiful voice. The dynamic flames of the maple used for the two-piece back, ribs and scroll as well as the striking grain of the spruce top are both finest-quality aged tone woods; a rich coat of subtly antiqued orange-brown varnish rounds out its distinguished appearance. Made ready to play by the violin-making specialists at our workshop, this violin with all the premium features of our “CV Selectio” has a broad musical spectrum because of its dominant voice full of volume: it offers a resonant fullness even in the upper registers. Our trade-in guarantee confirms the quality promised by our CV Selectio portfolio and opens the door towards a later purchase of an antique violin from our exclusive collection. Like all string instruments and bows in the Corilon catalog, delivered free of shipping costs, with a 30-day return policy and trade-in guarantee. A violin case, a matching violin bow, shoulder rest are included in the price of the 7/8 violin.
