A modern Italian violin made by Edoardo Giovannitti in Campobosso in 1981. The instrument is numbered 11 and bears the original label and several brandstamps inside and out. This broad model features beautiful tonewoods, typically Italian flared corners and fine inlaid purfling. The top is made of medium grained spruce, the two-piece back of flamed maple. The rich oil varnish has an intense red-orange color. The violin has some minor (retouched) flaws to the varnish but is otherwise undamaged and free of cracks. Its excellent bright open sound is clear and strong with a mellow note which is typically Italian. The instrument is easy to play and has a strong, even tone that is balanced across all of the strings. Our special recommendation!
