It bears the original Dykes & Sons maker's label inside the body as well as an inventory number from the legendary atelier W.E. Hill & Sons stamped into the fingerboard. Transparent, gleaming varnish of an orange-brown colour and beautiful antique patina express the individual character of this lovely old English violin. The purfling was executed with great precision, with very close edgework and a delicate beesting which clearly demonstrates the flawless craftsmanship of this maker.
