This German student violin has a surprisingly good sound at the price, it is a robust German instrument that was built approx. 1920 in Saxony for Franz Hell Elmshorn after a proven Stradivari model and is preserved in good, undamaged condition. The patinated red-brown colored varnish bears many trace of use, but its attractive, shining appearance is still motivating to practice, just as the very good sound of the violin. The medium grained spruce of the top and the mildly flamed maple of the two-piece back demonstrate the selected quality of the tonewoods that were chosen by the unknown maker who crafted this instrument. This old violin is a robust and recommendable instrument for educational purposes, that was worked over thoroughly by our luthiers and is offered ready to express its warm and clear, powerful voice, that features a mature and comfortably warm character.
