This interesting violin by Maitre Jean Striebig (*1910) is an instrument that found its way to us unlabeled, together with a gold medal certificate and some original unused violin labels and photographs (these now decorate our violin making workshop and are not included). This violin was made in Mirecourt and apparently took part in the Reims exhibvition in 1942. Striebigs splendid inividual models are very much sought after by musicians worldwide. The varnish is of a golden orange-brown color over a golden ground, the top is made of medium grained spruce, the two piece back of deeply flamed maple. This outstanding Jean Striebig violin has a soloist tone and is preserved crackfree and completely undamaged - now set up with a new bridge, soundpost and strings we offer this fabulous instrument  in full playing condition. The warm sound is clear, powerful, strong and robust.
