This antique 18th century violin is a highly interesting instrument with a mysterious provenance and eye-catching appearance, not only due to its shining, golden-brown colored varnish that developed strong patina. The top and the two-piece back of this violin were crafted with delicate purflings of tonewoods that feature interesting textures and seem to be the self-confident choice of an experienced and headstrong craftsman. His skills are impressively demonstrated by the grafted, elegant and small scroll, that was deeply carved. The best evidence of this 18th century violin's quality gives the fact that it remained with only minor repairs in a remarkable, crackfree condition and unfolds its wonderful sound with a colorful, mature voice and fluid character. Our luthier has spent great time and effort to restore this amazing 18th century instrument, that is offered here in immediate playing condition - our special recommendation!
