From the hands of a skilled violin maker comes this old Czech violin, made most likely in Schönbach - with much attention to the detail in following Matteo Alban patterns as indicated on the label, that is undecipherably signed by the maker. The luthier chose exceptionally good tonewoods, fine and very regular spruce for the top and attractive maple for the two piece back. The purfling and the small, elegant soundholes bear witness to the high precision of his work. The transparent, golden-yellow oil varnish is richly applied and patination and signs from playing. This good Czech violin is a quality instrument with an attractive, satisfying sound, bright and brilliant, but also warm, strong and resonant. It was carefully worked over by our luthiers and is offered ready to play.
