This beautiful French violin was built approx. 1900-1910 in the atelier Masspacher Mirecourt, the French center of violin making, after a relatively broad Stradivari model with long, extended corners. The transparent golden-brown shining varnish was applied over a golden-yellow ground, it decorates the selected tonewoods, an excellent choice of the maker: finely to medium grained spruce for the top and beautifully flamed maple with a charming, assymetrical texture. The delicate scroll perfectly underlines the elegant appearance of the woods, that is full of individual character. With only very few traces of use the violin is in excellent condition, ready to play after a complete work-over by our luthiers. The violin features a warm, matured sound, which is open to the upper ranges with very good resonance, warm, with a somewhat mellow note.
