This old French 1/8 violin is an extraordinarily well preserved instrument - it is offered in like-new condition - made in Mirecourt around 1950, probably by Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy, that was built approx. 1950 after the "Stradivarus" model of the renowned J.T.L. ateliers. It bears the corresponding label. The violins flawless, mint and practically unused condition is underlined by the nice, shining orange-brown varnish. Top and back of the 1/8 violin are two-pieces. Our violin maker thoroughly checked this attractive French 1/8 violin, worked it over with a new bridge, soundpost, Pirastro strings, etc. and applied new ebony pegs to make it perfectly ready to play. Although children's violins have certain limitations due to their small size, this 1/8 violin´s light and warm sound with a soft undertone is surprisingly good and highly motivating.
