This beautiful Markneukirchen violin by Lippold-Hammig was built around 1940 as a copy of Stradivarius and is the skillfully crafted affordable stringed instrument of this workshop, a piece of high handmade quality and experienced craftsmanship. The appearance of the instrument is determined by the shining orange-brown varnish and the delicate purfling. Very appealing aesthetical effects are produced by the play of colors of the varnish over the flames of the two-piece maple back. The individual style of the instrument is evident in the fine purfling and delicate edgework, which are precisely crafted, with much attention to the detail. With signs from playing but no repairs this good sounding German Markneukirchen violin is in very well preserved condition and was carefully worked over by our luthiers, who made it ready to play.
